A First, and a Fifth

I got home from work today to find a check for seven dollars from Pill Hill Press for my story “Nightmare at 200 Feet” for their Bloody Carnival anthology. Even though this would barely pay for a meal at Wendy’s (no Frosty for DK, I suppose), it does in my own demented mind make me officially a “professional writer”. I won’t be breaking the bank at this rate, but everybody’s got to start somewhere, right?

In other news, “Clown Monkey” will be in Pill Hill’s Daily Bites of Flesh anthology due out in the next few months. That’s five for five. Pretty pumped in the short story lane.

As for Pawn’s Gambit, the interminable wait continues, but I remain hopeful.

Lastly, working on a couple of new stories targeting a new publisher for me, Wicked East Press and their Daily Cup of Joe anthology along with whatever iteration of the Dark Things anthology Pill Hill is working on this week. We’ll see if “Bombshell” and “Status Update” do as well as their predecessors…

That’s all for now. Hope everyone has a good week.
